OSPRE Launches New Series of Policy Briefs to Support Early Action and Preparedness

The Organization for Strategic Preparedness and Resilience (OSPRE) has launched a new series of policy briefs aimed at supporting evidence-based decision-making on crisis prevention, preparedness, and resilience in West Africa and the Sahel. The policy brief series distills key insights from OSPRE’s recent analytical work into concise, actionable recommendations for policymakers and institutional leaders.

Topics include early warning systems, governance reform, climate-related risks, displacement, youth dynamics, and strategic foresight. The briefs are designed to bridge the gap between analysis and action by providing clear policy options that can be integrated into national and regional planning processes.

“Too often, early warnings do not translate into early action,” said Chris Ngwodo, Director General at OSPRE. “These policy briefs are intended to help decision-makers act earlier and more effectively to reduce the human and economic costs of crises.” The policy briefs will be released on a rolling basis and made publicly available through OSPRE’s publications platform.
